The Door and Hardware Institute has awarded Ron Geren first place in the Technical Article category for the Robert G. Ryan Memorial Award. The winning article, "Common Specifying Problems," appeared in the February 2014 issue of Doors & Hardware magazine, the official magazine of the DHI.
"There was great competition this year but your article clearly stood out among the best," said Denise Gable, Publisher and Managing Editor of the magazine.
Ron has been a frequent contributor of technical articles to the magazine over the past several years.

The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) publicly released the names of its newest class of Fellows for 2013. Among the list of honorees is Ronald L. Geren, AIA, CSI, CCS, CCCA, SCIP, owner and principal of RLGA Technical Services. Ron Geren was nominated by the Phoenix Chapter of CSI for his contributions to advancement in construction technology, improvement of construction specifications, education in the construction industry, and in service to the Institute.
The honor recognizes Ron's achievements at many levels including his articles on code compliance and construction documents, his volunteer work as a member and chair of the AIA MasterSpec Architectural Review Committee, his educational instruction on construction documents at the chapter and collegiate levels, and for his most recent work as chair of the Institute's Brand Revitalization Task Team.
The award will be presented at CSI's Honors and Awards Gala on Friday, September 27th, at CONSTRUCT 2013 & The CSI Annual Convention, to be held in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) publicly announces the recipients of this year's awards and honors. Among the list of recipients was Ronald L. Geren, AIA, CSI, CCS, CCCA, SCIP, owner and principal of RLGA Technical Services. Ron Geren, nominated by the Phoenix Chapter of CSI, was awarded a Communication Award for his article series Keynotes.
The award will be presented at CSI's Annual Meeting on Friday, September 16th, at CONSTRUCT2011 & The CSI Annual Convention, to be held in Chicago, Illinois.
According to CSI's "Honors and Awards Guide," the Communication Award "is presented to a CSI member, chapter, region, or group for outstanding effort in the communication of CSI related topics and activities." Keynotes articles focus on the improvement of construction documents and frequently reference CSI publications.
